What the Norwegian digital artist, Andreas Lie, has done in these double exposed prints is simply stunning. Imposing the natural setting over the outline of the animal while leaving the remainder of the frame mostly blank really allows the eyes to focus only on the subject. The effortless flow of soft fur to bristly tree branch is mesmerizing because it’s difficult to pinpoint where one ends and the other begins. You feel the wilderness within these images. The vastness and even a bit of loneliness or isolation. Also found is the stark contrast between the sole figure pictured and the wide open landscape which would be home not only to the one animal that we do see, but to the many others hidden within the forests.
