For me, this Valentine’s weekend started off with breakfast in bed (including a heart made from cinnamon in my coffee), cuddling and watching one of my all time favorites, Pride and Prejudice (the Kiera Knightly version). When it comes to romances, I am a complete sap. But this one, of course being a literary adaptation as well as a period piece, had me from the moment it began.
Hopeless romantic is a character trait I don’t even try to hide, although I do prefer fearless over hopeless. The connotation then changes to a strong woman (or man) not afraid of what damage may come to her heart in the pursuit of dreaming big, whether about life or love; rather than hopeless, which strictly implies something seeming pathetic and broken. Believe me, it is not for the faint of heart to have hope in and strive for what others feel to be nearly impossible.
Wishing you the most romantic of weekends…
